The official name of our student council is Fachschaft Sinologie/Indologie/Tibetologie (SIT). This is a joint student body of the B.A. in Sinology (Institute of Sinology), the B.A. in Buddhist and South Asian Studies (Institute of Indology and Tibetology) and the joint M.A. in Religion and Philosophy in Asia. We take care of interdisciplinary tasks together and subject-specific tasks on our own. Three of the five elected representatives come from Sinology, two from Indology and Tibetology.

The official email address of the SIT student council is

I am an MA student at the institute and I am particularly interested in Sanskrit literature (kāvya), Sanskrit theatre and Sanskrit linguistics. I have been a student representative for several years and also work as a tutor at the institute. As student rep, I am mainly responsible for the planning and organisation of institute celebrations.

I am studying Religion and Philosophy in Asia for my master's degree, with a focus on Buddhism. The languages that I am learning are Sanskrit, Tibetan, Pali, Chinese and Thai. I am particularly interested in monasticism, meditation, asceticism and Buddhist philosophy. I am also interested in Indian philosophy such as Yoga and Sāṃkhya. My tasks as a student council representative include the finances of the student council and the representation in the student council convention.
